At Concho Hearts Hospice, we believe great patient care starts with great leadership. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and support our clinical team in the Ennis area.
This role is ideal for a nurse leader who enjoys mentoring others, building strong teams, ensuring quality patient care, and creating a positive culture where employees feel supported and empowered.

What You’ll Do:
- Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and nursing services for the branch.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ensure quality patient care and compliance with hospice regulations and standards.
- Monitor clinical documentation, patient outcomes, and care coordination processes.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, coaching, and staff development.
- Support admissions, patient care planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings (IDT).
- Collaborate closely with Executive Directors and home office leadership.
- Promote a positive and supportive team culture.
What We’re Looking For:
- Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Hospice experience required.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hospice regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
- Passion for developing and supporting teams.
